A man has been fined and charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle after being detected travelling 157 kilometres over the speed limit at Norman Gardens in April this year.
On April 19, police were conducting mobile patrols along Yeppoon Road when they observed a white Suzuki motorcycle allegedly being driven at high speed around 1.20pm.
The male rider was detected travelling at 257km/hr in a 100km/hr zone and allegedly failed to stop at police direction.
Following investigations, the motorcycle and rider were identified and on May 30 with a 40-year-old man from Park Avenue charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle and evasion.
He was issued a $1854 fine, lost 8 demerit points, and given a 6-month licence suspension.
He is due to appear before Rockhampton Magistrates Court on July 30.
