That's because from 1 September 2025, you will not be able to transition your old licence to a Part 61 licence.
You may be eligible for a Part 61 licence if:
- you hold a pilot licence that was issued before 1 September 2014 under the Civil Aviation Regulations 1988, including any equivalent authorisations which are now included in Part 61
- the equivalent old authorisations have not been surrendered or cancelled, and
- you apply to transition your old licence for your new Part 61 pilot licence before 1 September 2025.
Applying for your new licence is easy. You have the option of getting a paper or digital licence document. Simply:
