Death in custody at City Watch House, SA

The death of a man at the Adelaide City Watch House is being treated as a death in police custody, according to SA Police.

At 1.05am on Tuesday 22 August, a 47-year-old man of no fixed address was found unconscious in a cell at the City Watch House.

Police cell staff immediately commenced CPR until ambulance crews arrived, but unfortunately the man could not be revived.

At this time the cause of his death in unknown and a post-mortem will be conducted.

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
