Death in police custody at Horsham

Police are investigating following a death in police custody.

Police were called to Harriett Street, Horsham after reports a man was breaching a court order on 26 March.

A 30-year-old Horsham man was arrested at the scene without incident and was taken to Horsham Police Station about 3pm that day where his condition deteriorated.

The man was transported to hospital by ambulance where he later died on 29 March.

The Homicide Squad will investigate the death, with oversight from Professional Standards Command.
