Death of an inmate from Dorchester Penitentiary 17 December

On December 12, 2020, Terrance Naugle, an inmate from Dorchester Penitentiary died while in our custody of apparent natural causes following an illness.

At the time of his death, Mr. Naugle, had been serving a sentence of 14 years and 14 days for operating a conveyance while impaired, operation while prohibited, obstruct public/peace officer, possession schedule I/II substance for purpose of trafficking and possession property obtained by crime, since September 22, 2020.

The inmate's next of kin have been notified of his death.

As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, Correctional Service Canada (CSC) will review the circumstances. CSC policy requires that the police and the coroner be notified.
