Death of an inmate from Regional Treatment Centre at Millhaven Institution

On May 18, 2020, Leo Mallet, an inmate from the Regional Treatment Centre at Millhaven Institution died while in our custody of apparent natural causes.

At the time of his death, Mr. Mallet had been serving an indeterminate sentence for Break and Enter with Intent and Non-capital Murder since April 16, 1971.

The inmate's next of kin have been notified of his death. The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) extends its condolences to the family.

As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, CSC will review the circumstances. CSC policy requires that the police and the coroner be notified.
