Decision on wheel park still to come

Council undertook a two month intensive community engagement process to gauge community sentiment on the potential for a wheel park in the City.

To assist the conversation, Council also identified sites with the potential to host a wheel park, should the community support the concept.

The consultation process is now complete and Council will soon review these results as part of their decision making on a potential wheel park for the City. The review of the community feedback is scheduled for one of the ordinary Council meetings in August 2019.

Should Council decide to proceed with a wheel park, it will then identify which location is most suited.

If the Council do decide to proceed with a park, and do indicate a preferred location, then there will be another consultation process around the concept design.

There is no budget allocated for the construction of a park however, should Council proceed with a wheel park there have been funds allocated in the 2019/20 Business Plan and Budget that the community was recently consulted on, for the development of a concept design. If the Council do not proceed with a wheel park, these funds will not be spent on this project.
