Deliberately lit fires at Salisbury Downs, SA

Police are investigating two suspicious fires at a group of units at Salisbury Downs last night, according to SA Police.

Police and fire crews were first called to Amsterdam Crescent, Salisbury Downs around 8.45pm on Saturday 19 November after furniture in a rear yard of a group of units was set alight. The fire caused some damage to a laundry before being extinguished by fire crews.

Emergency services returned to the address a few hours later, about 11.30pm, after reports of another fire. There was no one at home at the time of the fire, which engulfed the unit.

Neighbouring units were evacuated, with one occupant suffering minor smoke inhalation.

Fire cause investigators attended the scene overnight and determined the fires were deliberately lit.

Investigations are continuing.
