Demolition begins at Willow Park

Demolition works have begun at Willow Park with Wodonga Council to build a new pavilion.

Willow Park is one of the city's most utilised facilities with multiples sports, events and informal recreational needs held at the venue.

The works, which began on Monday, will include player and referee change rooms and amenities, a kitchen, public toilets and a store room.

Manager Sport and Recreation Liona Edwards said the new pavilion will be a great addition for the community.

"It will meet all requirements to cater for current and future useres of the park, including female friendly and accessibility guidelines," she said.

"The age and condition of the original building, along with the need to update accessibility requirements, meant constructing a new building was the most cost-effective option."

The project is funded by Wodonga Council in partnership with Sport and Recreation Victoria.

The pavilion is expected to be completed by February, 2020.
