Demolition site theft - man arrested, SA

A man has been arrested after allegedly stealing copper at West Lakes overnight, according to SA Police.

Just after 2am on Wednesday 29 August, patrols were called to AAMI Stadium after an alarm activation.

Police set up cordons around the stadium and a search was conducted with the assistance of Police Dog Iggy. A man was found a short time later hiding in the western stand.

Police will allege the man was found in possession of a small amount of copper piping and a knife along with a bag containing a number of tools.

The 54-year-old from Seaton was charged with unlawfully on premises, going equipped, theft and carry offensive weapon.

He has been refused bail and will appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court later today.
