Deprivation of liberty and robbery charges at Caboolture, QLD

Detectives from Moreton Bay investigating an incident in which a man was allegedly assaulted, robbed and forced into the boot of a car at Caboolture this morning have charged a man with several offences including deprivation of liberty, Queensland Police say.

It will be alleged that around 5am three men who had been at a Miles Street address got into an argument, with two of the men then stealing the other man’s credit cards.

The men then left the residence only to return a short time later where they then allegedly assaulted the man, bound him and forced him into the rear boot of a car, where he was repeatedly kicked and punched.

It will be alleged the two men then drove the vehicle around before releasing the man by the side of the road near Woodford at around 6.30am. The man lost consciousness and woke up around 8am on a service road running adjacent to the D’Aguilar Highway.

The man, a 33-year-old man from East Brisbane, was located by a passing motorist and taken to Woodford for medical assistance before he was transported to Caboolture Hospital for treatment to non-life threatening injuries.

Detectives arrested a 27-year-old Caboolture man at an address in Caboolture yesterday afternoon. He has been denied police bail and is due to appear in the Caboolture Magistrates Court this morning (Monday, September 19) where he also faces charges of robbery in company and assault occasioning bodily harm.
