Deprivation of liberty charges in Caboolture, QLD

A man has been charged following an incident in Caboolture earlier today, Queensland Police say.

At around 6.15am police were called to an address in McMillan Street, following reports of an unknown man at the location, allegedly causing a disturbance.

It will be alleged while inside the residence, the man demanded keys to a woman’s car before she managed to escape the address with her child.

It will further be alleged, the man was then alone inside a house but refused to come out.

An emergent situation was declared at 8.06am and police established an exclusion zone which encompassed Hodgkin Street, O’Neill Street, McMillan Street and Davison Street.

The emergent situation was revoked at 11.40am when the man was taken into custody.

A 27-year-old Caboolture man has been charged with a string of offences including two counts of deprivation of liberty and one count each of enter premises with intent, armed robbery, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, assault police and wilful damage.

He will appear in Caboolture Magistrates Court tomorrow.
