Preliminary investigations indicate that shortly before 10pm, two tow truck operators attended a unit complex on Varsity Parade to remove an illegally parked vehicle.
While attempting to remove the vehicle, the tow truck operators were confronted by two men, one of which was armed with a firearm.
The men demanded that the operators leave the vehicle alone and threatened them repeatedly with the firearm.
The tow truck operators, a 29-year-old man and a 21-year-old man, managed to run from the scene unharmed.
Police attended the scene and located two men attempting to remove a wheel clamp from the vehicle.
The men were arrested without incident, and a subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered three replica firearms.
Investigations are ongoing.
