Councillor Selena Clancy was elected Deputy Mayor and Councillor Matthew Norris Assistant Deputy Mayor following a ballot of councillors at the Ordinary Meeting, which concluded on Thursday, 24 September 2026.
Mayor Patricia White said, "Councillor Clancy and Councillor Norris bring valuable experience, leadership and commitment to their roles and I look forward to working alongside them. I also want to thank Councillor Peter Wilkins for serving as Deputy Mayor and stepping in during my absence related to my health."
Councillor Clancy, a retired Army Veteran, served in the Australian Army for more than two decades, including in a senior position within the Commando Regiment. Councillor Norris has served the Shoalhaven community as a Councillor for almost five years and has previously held the role of Deputy Mayor.
The Deputy Mayor and Assistant Deputy Mayor support the Mayor in carrying out civic and ceremonial duties and act in the Mayor's absence when required.
Council comprises a Mayor and 12 Councillors, with four Councillors representing each of the City's three wards. A full list of Councillors is available on Council's website.
