East Gippsland Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for witnesses following a series of small fires at Bairnsdale on Wednesday, Victoria Police say.
It is understood three small fires were lit along Forge Creek Road about 4.30pm.
The fires were quickly extinguished by fires services.
Investigators believe the fires were deliberately lit.
Detectives are appealing for public assistance and are keen to speak to anyone that may have seen any suspicious activity around the time of the fire and particularly anyone who may have been travelling along this road that may have dash cam footage around that time.
Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
