Detectives hope to identify vehicle in Lalor homicide investigation

Homicide Squad detectives have released a photo of a car they are hoping to identify as part of their investigation into the death of a man in Lalor in December 2015, Victoria Police say.

The Epping man died after he was shot outside a property on Huskisson Avenue about 3.15pm on Thursday 31 December 2015.

The 24-year-old was shot in a drive-by shooting involving a stolen Mazda station wagon which was later found burnt out at a residential address in Fawkner.

Investigators have released an image of a black 2003 Honda Civic sedan which attended at a service station on Pascoe Vale Road in Coolaroo in the early hours of 1 January, 2016 after the shooting.

It is believed the occupants of the vehicle purchased petrol which was allegedly used to set the stolen Mazda alight.

Detectives are keen to speak to the occupants of the Honda and anyone who may recognise the vehicle.

A 29-year-old Epping man has been charged with one count of murder.

Anyone with any information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
