Detectives investigate Bundoora robbery

Banyule Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating after a woman was robbed at Bundoora earlier this year, Victoria Police say.

Investigators have been told that a woman was walking along Miller Street, Epping when she was approached by a greyish Toyota Corolla about 3.30am on Sunday 22 January.

The driver claimed he was a hire car driver and offered to give the woman a lift home in exchange for payment.

The man then drove the woman to an automatic teller machine at a shopping centre on High Street.

As the victim was withdrawing cash from the machine the man approached from behind before they both got back into the car and she was dropped off in Ambrose Treacy Drive, Bundoora.

The woman got out and began to walk the rest of the way home, but was followed by the man who then demanded more money, before assaulting her and stealing her handbag.

The man then drove off in the Toyota.

The victim’s stolen credit card was later used to pay for items a several businesses.

• a service station on Somerton Park Drive, Somerton, about 4.45am

• a fast food outlet on Manchester Road, Mooroolbark about 8.55am, and

• a Sydney Road, Coburg North bottle shop about 11.15am.

Detectives have released CCTV footage and an image of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
