Glen Eira Bayside Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding a robbery in Ormond earlier this month (3 October), Victoria Police say.
It is believed a man entered a pharmacy on North Road about 7pm.
The man then reportedly became verbally aggressive, making demands for prescription medication, and threatening a staff member.
He then went behind the counter and stole a quantity of prescription medication and an amount of cash.
The offender has then fled the business on foot, running north along Lillimur Road.
No one was injured during the incident.
Investigators have released images of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
