An investigation is underway following a ram raid in the state's south west yesterday morning.

About 4.30am (Thursday 28 January 2021), a white Toyota Hilux utility, painted in a camouflage design, was used to force entry to a licensed club on the corner of Acacia and Yanco Avenue, Leeton.

The vehicle drove through the club, causing extensive damage to its structure and gaming machines.

Three men got out of the vehicle and attempted to steal a cash machine, before fleeing in the ute empty-handed.

Officers from Murrumbidgee Police District attended and established a crime scene, which has been examined by specialist forensic officers. Various items have been seized for further forensic analysis.

The ute, which had been reported stolen from a home in Yanco, is yet to be located and was last seen travelling south-west along Gidgee Street, Leeton.

Inquiries suggest the ute may now be painted in a camouflage design.

Detectives have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident and are appealing for anyone with information or dashcam vision to contact police.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence. The public is reminded not to report information via NSW Police social media pages.
