Detectives seek witnesses following Jamieson hit-run

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives continue to investigate and appeal for witnesses following a fatal hit-run collision in Jamieson last year, Victoria Police say.

Local man, Bryce Airs, was walking home from a nearby hotel and was struck and killed by a vehicle on the Mansfield-Woods Point Road about midnight on 25 November.

Passers-by located Bryce on the road with significant injuries and despite the efforts of emergency services Bryce passed away at the scene.

Injuries sustained by Bryce suggest the vehicle involved is a high clearance vehicle, most likely with a bull bar fitted to the front.

Police released CCTV last week of a 4WD seen in the area at the time of the incident, however, the vehicle has been discounted from the investigation.

Investigators are still appealing for public assistance regarding a similar 4WD utility vehicle fitted with a bull bar and spotlights.

They are also keen to speak to any witnesses that may have been in the area which is frequented by bushwalkers, campers and anyone that may have been driving in the area with dash cam footage.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
