Detectives waiting to speak with Homebush West stab victim, NSW

Detectives are waiting to interview a man after he was stabbed at Homebush West overnight, NSW Police say.

Police from Flemington Local Area Command were called to a unit block in Hampstead Road, Homebush West, about 9.30pm today, after a 28-year-old man suffered multiple stab wounds.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital.

While police were on-site, they were alerted to an affray in The Crescent only metres away.

When they arrived they found a 52-year-old man allegedly being assaulted by two men, both aged 26.

The older man was also treated by paramedics before he was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. He was treated and released into the custody of police.

The two men aged 26, and the 52-year-old man, were taken to Auburn Police Station where they have been assisting investigators with their inquiries.

All three men have subsequently been released pending further investigation.

Detectives are now waiting until the 28-year-old man – who is recovering after surgery – is well enough to make a statement, in an effort to clarify the circumstances surrounding both incidents.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
