Diamond in the rough - Ararat burglary and jewellery theft

Police are appealing for public assistance following a burglary and jewellery theft in Ararat sometime between May and June, Victoria Police say.

Investigators have been told a family who had been holidaying from 15 May arrived back at their Gordon Street home on 4 June to discover a jewellery box containing a number of valuable items had been taken.

Among the items were:

1 x 9-carat white gold bracelet

2 x 18-carat white gold rings

1 x white gold diamond bracelet

1 x 9-carat white gold diamond bangle

1 x amethyst stone

Investigators have released images of some of the items of jewellery in the hope someone may recognise them and be able to provide information.
