The Albanese Labor Government has secured approximately 150 million litres, or 900,000 barrels, of additional diesel in three new shipments through partnerships with Ampol, Viva and regional supplier IOR.

These three new fuel shipments are heading to South Australia, Tasmania, Queensland and Victoria, helping get fuel to where it's needed most, and increasing the distribution spread of additional supplies across the country.

This includes the first shipment with regional supplier IOR, reflecting the Albanese Government's focus on securing additional supplies for all regions.

Since we introduced new Strategic Reserve powers, the Albanese Government has secured approximately 600 million litres of diesel and approximately 100 million litres of jet fuel.

Export Finance Australia (EFA) has partnered with Ampol, BP Australia, IOR and Viva Energy to make these 14 additional cargoes of diesel and jet fuel possible so far.

Under the new Strategic Reserve powers, the Government has also secured approximately 90,000 tonnes of additional fertiliser into the domestic market with agreements with CSBP and Incitec Pivot announced in recent days, to give our farmers greater certainty as they make planting and growing decisions.

Through these measures and ongoing negotiations with industry, the Albanese Government is securing essential fuel and fertiliser supplies to safeguard Australians from the impacts of continuing global volatility, and to keep our nation and our people moving.

The Government is focussed on bringing additional supplies to all regions of Australia, with more shipments expected in coming days and weeks.

Quotes attributable to Prime Minister Anthony Albanese:

"These are more extra shipments of diesel thanks to the early actions our Government took, this time heading to Tasmania, South Australia, Queensland and Victoria, helping fuel the regional activity there which is critical to our nation.

"In the face of global instability, we are leaving no stone unturned as we work to keep Australia moving, working and flying."

Quotes attributable to Minister for Trade and Tourism, Don Farrell:

"Some 600 million litres of additional diesel fuel have now been secured through Export Finance Australia, which is the direct result of the Government's new Strategic Reserve powers.

"These shipments to South Australia, Tasmania, Queensland and Victoria are yet another positive step forward thanks to the early actions that the Government has taken and we continue to focus on doing everything we can to keep Australia moving."

Quotes attributable to Minister for Climate Change and Energy, Chris Bowen:

"The Albanese Government is continuing to secure more fuel to help Australians now while we set Australia up to better prepare for future shocks.

"This 150 million litres of diesel will be directed to regions like rural South Australia to keep Australian farmers, households and businesses moving."
