Digital Territory website gets facelift

Department of Corporate and Digital Development

Digital government has a new home with the updated Digital Territory site released today.

The website has been refreshed and expanded shining a light on key digital activities underway in the Territory.

It provides information on Digital Government, showcases our portals, programs and stories as well as providing opportunities and key information for the digital industry in the Territory.

The website houses our annual Digital Territory Action Plan that highlights initiatives across the Territory's ever-changing digital landscape and progress being made.

The 2021-22 Digital Territory Action Plan outlines a range of digital initiatives that deliver on the five strategic directions of the Digital Territory Strategy:

1. Growing jobs and business

2. Connecting Territory communities

3. Building digital skills

4. Enabling smarter communities

5. Improving government services

This year's Plan presents 57 key digital actions for the year ahead, and beyond, in response to government policy developments, new business requirements and technology advances.

Over the previous year, 20 priority digital actions were achieved, including delivery of the Can-Do Territory business portal, which has processed over 480 applications from new and existing Territory businesses.

Other achievements include the installation of three new mobile phone hotspots in remote Central Australia and development of the high school 'sySTEMic' program in partnership with Engineers Australia.

These achievements are referenced in the 2021-22 Action Plan. For details visit digitalterritory.nt.gov.au

Quotes from Department of Corporate and Digital Development CEO, Kathleen Robinson:

"The Northern Territory Government is focused on digital transformation to help create jobs and economic opportunities for the Territory. We have faced many challenges and hurdles with COVID-19 and have responded with the rapid deployment of online digital services for government, local industry and our community.

"The Digital Territory Strategy released in October 2018 provides a plan that will enable Territorians to get the most out of digital opportunities and challenges now and into the future. The strategy sets new digital directions and action plans that harness the skills and knowledge of each sector of the Territory economy, as well as the community.

"Each year, the Digital Territory Action Plans are refreshed with key initiatives to ensure we are building on our digital skills and knowledge, our capability and expanding the Territory's digital footprint.

"I urge everyone to visit our renewed website to view our annually refreshed Action Plan detailing the deliverables to turn the Territory's digital vision into a reality."
