Dismissal of Police Officer, North Coast Region

A male senior constable from North Coast Region has been dismissed from the Queensland Police Service.

Deputy Commissioner Doug Smith dismissed the 46-year-old officer under section 5AA of the Police Service Administration Act 1990 as he was deemed unsuitable to be a police officer.

The man was stood down from duty with the QPS on October 22, 2020 while he was the subject of an investigation into allegations of off-duty behaviour including domestic violence.

Following court proceedings, the officer was issued with a show cause notice on September 16, 2021 before being formally dismissed on October 2.
