Disruptions On Eastern Freeway 3 February

The Victorian Government is continuing work on the North East Link project. Significant disruptions to the Eastern Freeway and surrounding road network are expected in February and March. As works progress, we encourage you to:

Bulleen Road citybound exit ramp: temporary closure

From 9 pm on Wednesday 4 February until mid-March, the Eastern Freeway Burke to Tram Alliance (EBTA) will close the Bulleen Road citybound exit ramp for up to 6 weeks.

During this closure, they'll complete 24/7 works to build foundations for a new shared path underpass at the Bulleen Road citybound exit ramp, new noise walls and carry out pavement works.

Eastern Freeway weekend closure in February

From 10 pm on Friday 6 February to 5 am Monday 9 February, the Eastern Freeway will be closed in the city-bound direction only between Doncaster Road and Bulleen Road.

There will be no parking or stopping along Doncaster Road in the city-bound direction between Greythorn and Burke roads.

Delays of up to 60 minutes are expected during peak travel times. We encourage you to plan ahead.

During this weekend closure, the following freeway ramps will also be closed to help ease traffic congestion:

  • Doncaster Road city-bound entry ramp
  • Elgar Road citybound entry ramp
  • Middleborough Road city-bound entry ramp
  • Blackburn Road city-bound entry ramp
  • Springvale Road city-bound entry ramp.

Alternative travel options

Delays of up to 60 minutes are expected. We encourage you to avoid the area if you can and plan ahead.

Detour routes are shown on the map at Victoria's Big Build website, including:

  • city-bound via Doncaster Road and Burke Road
  • Ringwood-bound via Thompsons Road, Manningham Road, Williamsons Road and Tram Road.
