Dog owners in Echuca, Kyabram and Tongala are advised that the community dog parks in these towns will be temporarily closed across a range of dates from late November to mid-February while important projects are carried out.

Works will kick off at the Echuca East recreation precinct during the week beginning 24 November, with contractors top-dressing the western dog park and central large dog areas. This will require the closure of the area to the public for between two and three weeks to allow for best results regarding grass growth and coverage. When these two areas reopen, the eastern dog park will be closed for similar works to be undertaken.

The Kyabram Dog Park will be closed for about three weeks from 19 January 2026 for scheduled irrigation works. Once these works are completed in Kyabram, the irrigation works crews will move to the Tongala Dog Park which will then be closed for a similar duration.

The Kyabram and Tongala dog parks will be completely closed to the public while these works are taking place, and residents are asked to make alternative exercise arrangements for their dogs during this time.

The scheduled works will ensure the ongoing amenity and quality of the dog parks for future community use, and Council thanks residents for their patience and understanding while these enhancements are made.
