Police are investigating the alleged theft of a dog from a home in Wantirna South today, Victoria Police say.
The owner of Kirea the staffy left her Scott Court home about 1pm with the dog locked in the backyard.
When she got home about 4pm she noticed a piece of wooden fence appeared to have been kicked in and Kirea was missing.
Kirea is a female American staffy, brindle in colour with white patches on her chest, paws and face.
Investigators have released an image of Kirea in the hope someone may recognise her.
