Doonside: Police Rescue Two, Arrest One in House Fire

Two people have been pulled from a burning house by police officers following an alleged domestic violence incident in Doonside this morning.

About 4.25am (Thursday 4 September 2025), emergency services were called to a home on Wangara Street, Doonside, following reports of two people arguing.

On arrival, officers from Blacktown Police Area Command located a vehicle out the front of the premises which had been damaged, and the house well-alight.

Officers forced entry into the house and located two men; one of the men was detaining the second man.

The officers were able to separate the men and both men were pulled from the house a short time later.

One of the men – aged 46 – was arrested and taken to Westmead Hospital where he is being treated for burns to his back. He remains there under police guard.

The second man – aged 35 – was taken to Blacktown Hospital where he is being treated for facial injuries.

The four police officers were assessed at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics.

NSW Fire and Rescue officers attended and extinguished the blaze.

A crime scene has been established and investigations into the incident continue.
