Double the trouble in less than two hours in Shepparton

A driver has been caught allegedly drink driving twice in Shepparton last night (12 September), Victoria Police say.

Goulburn Valley Highway Patrol police detected a Toyota Camry sedan travelling along Northumberland Crescent about 10.20pm.

The vehicle was intercepted and the driver, a 26-year-old Shepparton man returned a positive blood alcohol content reading of 0.112.

He was released pending summons.

At approximately 11.30pm, police from Shepparton observed the same vehicle again on Welsford Road, directly outside the Shepparton Police Station and observed the same man allegedly driving.

The vehicle was intercepted and the man told police he’d returned to the police station to report his wallet had been lost.

As well as filling out a lost property report, he provided another positive blood alcohol content reading of 0.098.

He is expected to be charged on summons for two counts of drink driving.
