Drainage renewal works for Settlement Road in Cowes

Stormwater drainage renewal works along Settlement Road in Cowes will begin this week.

This $89,000 project is fully funded by Bass Coast Shire Council as part of its Capital Works Program. This project will help increase stormwater capacity, renew existing pipes and alleviate localised flooding experienced at the rear of some properties.

Construction is expected to take around four weeks to complete.

The works will include the construction of new underground stormwater drainage pipes or pits and the modification of existing drainage infrastructure. Most of the works undertaken will be at the rear of properties between 276 and 284 Settlement Road and 57 and 59 McKenzie Road.

Appropriate traffic and pedestrian control measures will be in place during the construction period. Local and emergency access to properties will be maintained at all times.

The works will include the use of heavy plant and machinery and might be noisy at times. Council understands that these works may present an inconvenience to nearby residents and appreciates their patience during these times. The contractor will make every effort to minimise disruptions during construction.
