Drink-drivers caught in early morning operation in Newcastle

Several alleged drink-drivers were caught during an early morning operation in Newcastle over the weekend (Saturday 21 October to Sunday 22 October 2017), NSW Police say.

Officers from Newcastle Traffic & Highway Patrol Command set-up the operation to focus on early morning drink-drivers in and around the Newcastle area.

The operation between 3am and 7am; resulted in over 350 random breath tests conducted.

Twelve drivers were charged with drink-driving along with 10 for drug-driving and three for other traffic related offences.

Officers will continue to conduct similar operations over the upcoming summer months.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
