Drink driving charge after Zetland crash, NSW

A woman has been charged with drink driving after crashing her car into a loading dock at Zetland this morning, NSW Police say.

Just before 3.15am (Sunday 11 March 2018), emergency services were called to a shopping centre on Defries Avenue, after reports of a crash.

Officers from Redfern Police Area Command attended and found a Volkswagen Golf had crashed into the loading dock area, hitting a gas pipe.

A nearby unit block was evacuated due to the gas leak. Fire & Rescue NSW attended to assist.

The driver, a 20-year-old woman, underwent a roadside breath test which allegedly returned a positive result.

She was arrested and taken to Redfern Police Station where she returned an alleged breath analysis reading of 0.110.

The woman was charged with Mid-Range PCA and is due to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on 2 April 2018.
