Driver arrested after car crashes into house at Christies Beach , SA

A man has been arrested for numerous traffic charges after his car crashed into a house at Christies Beach overnight, according to SA Police.

Just after 2.30am a silver Barina travelling on Neville Avenue careered out controlled crashing into the lounge room of a house.

A woman in her 50's who was asleep in the house at the time of the crash was treated at the scene for shock.

The driver of the Barina a 35-year-old man from Aldinga was arrested by Christies Beach patrols for numerous traffic offences including driving at a speed and manner dangerous to the public, driving while unlicensed and driving an unregistered uninsured vehicle.

The arrested man was bailed to appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court at a later date.

Extensive damage was caused to the timber frame house with SES volunteers attending to assess the damage.
