Driver arrested after pedestrian hit, SA

Western Adelaide Police are seeking witnesses to an incident at Kilkenny on Friday night, according to SA Police.

It will be alleged that about 6.15pm on Friday 14 July, the driver of a red Subaru station wagon had an altercation with a female pedestrian on Torrens Road, Kilkenny. The station wagon was driven on the incorrect side of the road and also collided with the pedestrian.

The woman received minor injuries, then left the scene in the station wagon.

Following investigations, police arrested a 36-year-old Plympton man and charged him with aggravated acts to endanger life and drive in a manner dangerous. He was also charged with other numerous unrelated theft offences.

He was refused police bail and will appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.

It is understood the two people involved are known to each other and this was not a random incident.

Investigators would like to speak with anyone who witnessed this incident on Friday night. Traffic was quite busy at the time and many people may have information or dashcam footage that may assist the investigation. They are asked to provide their details to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
