Driver arrested after pursuit in Blair Athol, SA

Police from the Heavy Vehicle Enforcement Section have arrested a man following a brief pursuit in Blair Athol tonight, according to SA Police.

Just after 9.30pm on Saturday 14 January, patrols spotted the man driving a Holden Commodore sedan along Main North Road and attempted to stop him.

The driver refused and police pursued the car for a short distance into Warren Avenue where he abandoned the car fled on foot.

The 38-year-old from Smithfield Plains was arrested without incident a short distance away and has been charged with drive disqualified and engage in police pursuit. He has been bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court at a later date.

His car was also impounded for 28 days.
