Westgate Highway Patrol officers caught a driver speeding at 65kmp/h over the speed limit in Yarraville this afternoon, Victoria Police say.
Police clocked a Mercedes sedan allegedly travelling at 105kmp/h in a 40km road work zone on Hyde Street about 4pm.
Police intercepted the vehicle which was immediately impounded for 30 days at a cost of $878.50.
The driver, a 50-year-old Williamstown man, is expected to be charged on summons with speed related offences.
