Driver charged with drink driving, disqualified until 2035, NSW

A man will face court after he was allegedly caught driving while disqualified for the second time, NSW Police say.

Just after 8pm (Friday 5 January 2018), officers were conducting stationary breath testing on Dacey Avenue, Moore Park, when they pulled over a Nissan Micra.

After a brief conversation with the officer, the man allegedly accelerated from the RBT and a pursuit was initiated.

The vehicle eventually stopped on Southern Cross Drive and a 40-year-old man was arrested.

He was taken to Surry Hills Police Station where he underwent a breath analysis and returned a reading of 0.101.

Police checks revealed the driver was disqualified from driving until 2035.

A search of the passenger, a 34-year-old woman, allegedly located cocaine. The items were seized.

He was charged with police pursuit – drive dangerously (Skye’s Law), drive disqualified and mid-range PCA.

The man was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Saturday 6 January 2018).

The passenger was charged with possess prohibited drug and granted conditional bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Thursday 25 January 2018.
