Driver Crashes Into Police Car, Arrested at Munno Para

A driver has been arrested after allegedly crashing into a police vehicle at Munno Para West this morning.

Just after 4am on Sunday 24 May, a solo police officer was travelling on Curtis Road when it will be alleged a black Jeep SUV travelling in the opposite direction veered onto the wrong side of the road and collided head-on with the marked Kia police vehicle.

The officer sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital for assessment.

The driver of the Jeep fled the scene on foot, while the uninjured passenger remained with the vehicle.

Police conducted a search of the area and located the driver nearby just after 5am.

The 30-year-old man was arrested and taken to hospital with injuries sustained in the crash. He is expected to be charged with multiple offences when medically fit.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Investigations into the crash are continuing.
