Driver crashes into Stobie pole at Glandore, SA

A man crashed his car into a Stobie pole after police tried to pull him over at Glandore last night, according to SA Police.

At 11.30pm on Saturday 27 August, a patrol saw the man's car exiting a service station on Cross Road and driving on the wrong side of the road. The patrol indicated for the driver to pull over, however, he took off at speed and, about 500m down the road, collided with a Stobie pole and two traffic lights.

The driver, a 21-year-old Davoren Park man, was the only occupant of the car.

MFS and paramedics attended the scene and extricated the man from the car. He was taken to the Flinders Medical Centre with non-life threatening injuries. A blood sample will be taken at the hospital to check for alcohol.

Once he has recovered, police will be speaking to him about his manner of driving.
