Driver critical after crash at Elizabeth South, SA

A man is in a critical condition in hospital following a head-on crash between two cars at Elizabeth South last night, according to SA Police.

Just on 10pm, a Silver Ford sedan travelling south on the Philip Highway veered onto the wrong side of the road and collided head-on with a silver Ford Fiesta travelling north.

The driver and only person travelling in the Ford sedan, a 44-year-old man from Elizabeth East, was rushed to the Lyell McEwin Hospital in a critical condition with multiple injuries.

The female driver of the Fiesta and her male passenger, were taken to the Modbury Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The Philip Highway was closed for nearly hours three hours while emergency services crews worked at the scene.

Elizabeth Police assisted by Major Crash Investigators are examining the circumstances surrounding the crash and asked anyone with information on the incident or saw either vehicle prior to the crash to please contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
