Driver Critical After Tree Crushes Truck in Moss Vale

A driver is in a critical condition after a tree fell and crushed his truck in the Southern Highlands overnight.

Emergency services were called to Berrima Road, Moss Vale, about 10.30pm (Tuesday 1 July 2025), and found a tree had fallen onto a B-Double truck, crushing the driver's cabin.

Officers attached to The Hume Police District – assisted by NSW Ambulance, State Emergency Service and Fire and Rescue NSW – extracted the unconscious driver.

The driver – a 55-year-old man – was treated for serious injuries to his head and torso before being taken to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.
