Driver detected 84kms over speed limit

Police are reminding motorists to drive to the speed limit after a Hobart man was detected travelling 84km/h over the limit on the Southern Outlet yesterday.

A 23-year-old Hobart man was detected travelling at 184km/h on the Southern Outlet around 10am.

The man was driving was a Kia Carnival eight-seater vehicle with seven passengers and a dog in the vehicle at the time.

The driver will be summonsed to appear at the Hobart Magistrates Court at a later date.

Police would like to remind motorists that travelling at excessive speed is one of the main contributing factors to serious and fatal crashes.
