Driver dies after crash - Helensburgh, north of Wollongong, NSW

A second man has died after a crash in Helensburgh last weekend. , NSW Police say

About 2am (18 June 2017), emergency services were called to Walker Street, Helensburgh following reports two vehicles had crashed.

Officers from Wollongong Local Area Command attended and found a Nissan Skyline had crashed into the rear of a tipper truck at the location.

The passenger, an 18-year-old man, died at the scene.

The 25-year-old driver sustained multiple injuries and was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being airlifted to St George Hospital.

He later died in hospital on Tuesday 20 June 2017.

Officers from Crash Investigation Unit attended to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
