Driver flees after Hornsby crash

An investigation is underway into a crash in Sydney's north overnight, in which the driver fled the scene.

Just before 11.30pm (Friday 22 November 2019), emergency services were called to Leighton Place, Hornsby, after a Nissan Skyline collided with a parked Toyota Hilux utility and the driver fled.

Officers from Kuring-Gai Police Area Command and the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command attended and found a 25-year-old male passenger trapped in the Nissan. He was freed and taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

A second passenger, a 23-year-old man, was uninjured.

Investigations continue to identity and locate the driver.

Any witnesses, or anyone with information about the crash is urged to contact police via Crime Stoppers.

In a separate incident, emergency services rescued a 22-year-old man lost in bushland at Hornsby about 3am (Saturday 23 November 2019). He was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a stable condition and is still being assessed.

Police are yet to determine if the incidents are linked.
