Driver injured after bus, truck collide at Rydalmere

A bus driver was injured after his bus and a garbage truck collided at Rydalmere this morning.

About 4.20am (Wednesday 18 September 2019), emergency services attended the corner of Victoria Road and Clyde Street, following reports of a collision.

There were no passengers on the bus at the time.

The male truck driver was not hurt. The male bus driver had to be freed by rescue personnel and was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics.

He continues receiving treatment at Westmead Hospital for a suspected broken arm.

Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command are continuing their inquiries into the events leading up to the crash.
