Driver Injured After Pursuit - Caringbah

A driver is in hospital following a pursuit in Sydney's south.

About 1am today (Saturday 27 June 2026), officers attached to Sutherland Shire Police Area Command attempted to stop a ute on the Kingsway, Caringbah, due to the manner of driving

When the driver allegedly failed to stop as directed, police commenced a pursuit before the ute crashed and rolled onto its side a short time later.

The passenger of the ute – a 23-year-old man – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to hospital as a precaution.

The driver – a 24-year-old man – was trapped for some time until he was freed by Fire and Rescue NSW.

He was treated by paramedics and taken to St George Hospital in a stable condition under police guard.

Police have established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the incident.

Inquiries are ongoing.
