Driver to face court after speeding 210km/h in a 80km/h zone

A 42-year-old Oxley Vale man will appear in court after he was allegedly detected travelling nearly three times the speed limit in the state's north yesterday.

About 7.30am on Saturday 12 October 2019, officers from Traffic and Highway Patrol Command were conducting speed enforcement duties on Manilla Road, Oxley Vale when they detected a silver Ford Falcon XR6 utility travelling at 210 km/h south towards Tamworth in a 80km/h speed zone.

Officers stopped the vehicle and issued the driver with a Field Court Attendance Notice for the offence of drive in a speed dangerous to the public. His driver's licence was suspended.

He is due to appear before Tamworth Local Court on Monday 4 November 2019.
