Driver under guard in hospital after pursuit from Bonnyrigg to Rosehill, NSW

A man has been arrested after a pursuit and crash in Sydney’s west overnight, NSW Police say.

About 2am (Wednesday 3 October 2018), police attempted to stop a Toyota Corolla on Cabramatta Road West at Bonnyrigg for a random breath test.

The driver failed to stop and a pursuit was initiated.

The vehicle was pursued through a number of suburbs including Wetherill Park, Wentworthville and Rosehill, where a tyre deflated and it hit a tree in Weston Street.

The driver, a 36-year-old man from Cabramatta, has been taken to Westmead Hospital for mandatory testing.

He remains there under police guard.
