Drivers cautioned during Operation Rail Safe, SA

More than 170 people were cautioned and a further 89 received infringement notices during Operation Rail Safe, according to SA Police.

The week-long Operation was held between 12.01am on Monday 13 August and 11.59pm on Sunday 19 August to coincide with National Rail Safety Week.

Rail Safety Week is an annual community awareness week held in Australia and New Zealand designed to engage the community in safe behaviour around rail tracks and crossings.

Police issued 177 cautions in total for driver behaviour at rail crossings.
